TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN THE AMAZON (MIDWIFERY)
Discover and explore the marvelous world of ancestral and natural medicine of the Quichua indigenous cultures.
The project
This group of Quechua women were worried about the medicinal ancestral knowledge that has been disappearing, so they decided to organize a way to give the service of the community and teach them the tradition.
The midwifes, of course, work taking care of the patients before, during and after the pregnancy with the traditional techniques, such as the vertical childbirth. On the other hand, they work on other areas like: health (for the community in general); “live” pharmacy, where they use the medicinal plants without processing them; green pharmacy of natural compounds; nutrition advisory (for pregnancy women); and the accommodation & touristic area.
